Today, I am sharing an easy way to create grunge brush in adobe illustrator. It’s a vector graphics tutorial showing you all the steps to create paint brush effect in your creatives. Grunge texture or grunge effect is the messy look in your design that gives a feeling that something in form of scattered particles or in small pieces lies in random positions. It’s a trendy and creative way to add these type of design in your illustration. You can also consider this as splatter brush effect like the paint brush that you can use in your graphics and use the technique to add in your graphics. On the internet, you can find various places where you can find premade grunge brushes but here in this tutorial, I am showing you step by step to create your own grunge brush with creativity. Grunge brushes in the illustration can be created in a variety of ways that depends upon grunge look and requirements. I use the simple and easy technique that you can easily adapt to create your own grunge brush with creativity. The grunge brush created in this video tutorial is 100% vector created in adobe illustrator CS6. The color mode is CMYK with the high print compatible resolution that you can easily use for print and web creatives. Create Ellipse in oval style using shape tool. Turn off the fill color and make the stroke color to black. By using Knife tool, you can badly chop the oval. Place lines in like you create small squares in the oval. For the better view, watch the video tutorial. Select the overall shape and make the stroke thinner just by adjusting stroke weight to 0.5 pt. Go to Window – Align. Use Align tool, Make the horizontal Distribute Center. Select each layer and go to, Effect – Distort & Transform – Roughen. Adjust settings: Size – relative 24%, Details: 25/inch – corner (Mark check on Preview so you can see the changes). Now select each and everything together and go to, Effect – Distort & Transform – Transform and make transform adjustment. You can see the details at 3:11 in the video tutorial. Transform Settings: Scale: Horizontal & Vertical = 0%, Move: Horizontal =-92px  Vertical = 72px, Angle: 42 degrees, Option: Random, Choose Middle Point and Copy: 1 Press Ok to Transform settings Now select again and go to, Window – Brushes. Drag the shape to brushes window to create art brush. Now choose colorization method – Tints and Shades Press Ok Use Paint brush tool to draw Grunge brush. You brush is ready! I am showing you step by step to design modern wedding invitation with a custom touch. Wedding is the big day of bride and groom’s life and everybody wants to get perfect on their big day. From wedding dress to wedding kit especially the wedding invitations like a bridal shower, Save the date card, wedding day invitation, and other related invites have a big importance.  On a wedding day, everybody wants to get best of the best way Here, I want to share one thing that most of my customer, especially who wants custom wedding cards always looking for something exclusive so I ask them to share the idea so I can illustrate it accordingly to make your day memorable. Most people want something classy and others looking for modern and vintage style wedding invitations. On a wedding day, everybody wants to get best of the best way. Here, I am sharing step by step wedding invitation design tip that you can follow and create your own wedding invitation as you like. For your convenience, I created a video so it will be quite easy and time saving for you to watch all steps and learn the process in minimal time. I recommend you to watch the video then you can manually follow the steps as it will be quite easy for you learn. You can also download template file to work as sample. Download link is available at the end of this post below the video link. So let’s start now! To Start With… You need to install Adobe Illustrator. If you have Adobe illustrator then you can open the application. If you don’t have then you can easily download from below link Download Illustrator Note: 30 days trial version is free!  Download it and install to start designing. Step 1: Set Up New Document Go to File – Create New document Choose Size 5×7 inches Orientation: Portrait Bleed: 0.125 inches Color mode: CMYK Raster Effects – High 300 PPI Press Ok and go with these setting Step 2: Setup Rulers and Guide Go to Views – Rulers – Show Rulers Check on Smart Guide in View Menu As I shown in Video, Follow the process to manage guideline. Step 3: Start Designing Wedding Monogram First, take Ellipse tool from Shape toolbar. Now draw a long and thinner oval. (Check out video) Remove the stroke color and fill the color with Black. Now go to Object – Expand the layer Go to Window – Brushes Now select oval shape and drag it to Brush section Choose Art Brush and do the setting as shown in the video. Now you can use the Brush to design wedding monogram. For convenience, drag the guide in artboard and start your work. Good idea is to design One corner with a different style of patterns using the brush. Make design and Group it by pressing Ctrl G from the keyboard on PC. Now Press Ctrl C (to copy layers) and Press Ctrl V (to paste) and Right-click and Use Transform and Reflect Vertical. Press Ctrl G to group the layer and drag it to another right side. Now select both layers and click Ctrl C and Crtl F to place in the same place. Now again go to Transform and Rotate to 180 degrees and drag down. Select each and everything together and go to Object and Press Expand. Now change the color. Go to Window, Appearance, change the Opacity to 40% Now place the wedding monogram in the middle of your wedding invitation card. Step 4: Design Content Write Bride and Groom Name using Text tool. I used font Amarillo (You can check some best wedding fonts here) Select text and right click and choose “Convert to Outline” Now make a little angling to adjust the name in card. Add more text and write accordingly. (Check video for complete procedure). Write “Please Join us for the wedding of” and place it at the top of the card. Select it and go to Effect – Warp – Arc and Bend it to 19%. Now place all the text. For convenience, you can copy the text from wedding template. Download link is at the end of this post. Step 5: Save the Print Ready File Go to File, Click Save As PDF It will show the setting, Choose Adobe PDF Preset – High-Quality Print Mark check on option – Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities Go to Marks and Bleed – Mark check on “Use document bleed settings” Also mark check on “Trim Marks” Press Save PDF And now you are done! The simple and easy way of creating a glowing neon effect in Illustrator. I used Coke bottle outlines and created glowing effect using simple tricks of layering, blur, and feature. Neon Effect glow is the demanding most required method that most of the designers used in creative designs especially for digital glow or to highlight illuminated objects. My design technique to provide is simple and easy to adapt. Most recommended if you are learning illustrator and looking forward to knowing the tweaks to create these sort of glow or neon effect. Video Tutorial: How I Create Glowing Neon Effect In Illustrator CS6 Duration: 9:48 Download Project File: Click Here… Manual Points to Create Neon Effect Here are the steps that I used to create this glowing neon effect: Create New document Create black background layer and Press Ctrl 2 to lock the layer You can use the Pen tool to create bottle outline. Now increase the size of layer stroke to 5 pt and color to Red and don’t forget to remove the fill color. Now Copy the layer and Paste in the same place and turn the stroke size to 1 pt and change the color to white. Make sure to keep it in middle. Now choose 1st layer with 5 pt and make another copy and keep it same place. Now select front layer and go to Effect- Blur – Gaussian Blur and adjust the blur intensity. To increase the size of a blur, you can change the stroke weight. Now the Neon Effect is in front of you. You can copy the same layers and Paste on the side and change the color to purple. Press Ctrl 2 to Lock the layer. Using Rectangle shape tool, create 4 consecutive rectangles like in the video Intact Direct select tool by press ‘A’ from the keyboard. Smooth layers of the 1st rectangle and create a copy and past at the end of 4 rectangles. Step 3 Now use Mesh tool or Press ‘M’ from keyboard to intact Mesh tool. Add layers of each rectangle and add gradient grey color. Now double click on Warp tool and change the width to 250 px and height to 100 px. Now deform the rectangles randomly using warp tool. Reduce the size and select all rectangles. Go to Window – Stylize – Feather and change the value to 32. Now go to Window again and use Blue – Gaussian Blur. Adjust blur value Assemble rectangle layers in a smoke format as shown in the video. Follow Steps by Step to Make Watercolor Printable Invitation Adobe Illustrator is the great tool to design professional graphics especially the vector ones. Step 1: Define your printable invitation Artboard settings Create New document and use the width 5×7″ (standard size of invitation card) Keep the orientation to Portrait Use CMYK (recommended for print) and resolution to 300 PPI Bleed is 0.125″ (standard bleed size). Check your printer bleed requirement to go with this. Step 2: Set your Artboard Press control R to intact rulers Now define guides on top, left, bottom and right to work in proper order. Step 3: Start Designing Go to File – Place Image file of watercolor background (You can find the image in download link). If you are using your image or watercolor background then make sure it needs to be high resolution and color mode should be CMYK. Resize the background image according to the size of your artboard.
